Here’s how to deal with Nigerian scams

Introduction

I received this today and decided to answer in a proper way:🤣

Dear Mr. Ziegner,

I’m broken to hear the news about my uncle Ron. He was a nice man but unlike what you tell me, he promised me his whole capital back in 2015.
I have this on writing and therefore I thrust you to transfer the FULL AMOUNT to my account.
My bank details are as follows:
IBAN: NL67ABNA06030032490
I thrust it will be on my account next week.
If your payment won’t be there in time or incomplete I will ask my incasso bureau (Moscowitch Lawyer Office, Amsterdam, the Netherlands) to follow up with you. Such an action will generally result in doubling of the amount plus registration of your companies name on our blacklisted accounts.
I thrust you will take appropriate action.
With kind regards,
Dr. Evert Wagenaar.

The real corrupt governements? Netherlands or the Philippines?

Introduction

I live here with my fiancé for almost a year now. I’m trying to make  a honest living by helping EU businesses to do business in Asia. At first I had my doubs by leaving to a corrupt part of the world. After my first year I adjusted my opinions.

  1. The Philippines are not unguilty. Everything is for sale if you have connections and money. Sure: Mrs Marcus owned 200 pairs of shoes; a Shame! But compare it with the Garderobe of Queen Maxima! If we could get wealth tax on this, all the financial problems of NL would be forever gone! Including the budget deficits! And wealth taxes are the only taxes the roayal family had to pay! Yes, had! Since 1973 or so, it  was decided that they could get it back!
  2. The pleasure boat of grandmum Beatrix (The green dragon or so) has annual service costs which are enough to fill the entire budget of the complete Ministery of Defence!
  3. And then wer’e not even talking about their properties and the ‘allowance’ of Princess Amalia, a little girl. She receives 15 M € a year for nothing!

Who are paying?

The hard working tax payers of the Netherlands. It’s theft in my opinion!

Conclusion

The Dutch governement loves to point their fingers to the Asians when it comes to corruption and nepotism but in fact their’e much worse!

some things that need improval in the Philippines

Introduction

I’m from the Netherlands and live in the Philippines foralmost 10 months. I noticed some things that could be improved.

Automation and Computers.– Yes, the Philippines are on the right way! Websites like Lazada and Shopee proved it already. There’s just one but! The governement…. My fiance is waiting for her birth certificate for years now… It’s because of an error which was made by an officer of the multiciplicity of Baungon. It’s sad…. People shouldn’t be the victims of the errors made by their own governements…. Off course there’s a way out! Corruption! Just pay the officer10,000 PHP and everything iis arranged immeadiately! Unfortunately wer’e not milliomaires. We can make a living in here, but Corruption doesn’t fit in it. Neighter in our lives.

Come to my country, speed on the highway and try to buy a police officer. You’ll be thrown in Jail for the rest of your life! Why? We don’t accept corruption and NEVER will!

Dear Mr. President Duterte, i am not addressing you personally. I just love my Fiancée and want to marry her.

Could you please help us to get out of this situation!

Thank you.

Why I lost my (Apple) religion and switched to Google and Android.

Introduction

Since the beginning of my interest in Computers and Software I never made it a secret that I was a Mac fan. Next to my (Power) Macs, iMacs and Macbooks I owned iPhones, iPods, iPads an iWatch and even an Apple TV!

Since the latest months this has all changed. I threw everything in the bin, bought a Samsung Galaxy A10 and a HP Chromebook.

Why?

iTunes pissed me off, after years and thousands of Euro’s for my extended music, movies and iBooks libraries, I couldn’t access them anymore. Reason: ‘An unknown error has occurred’ After contacting Apple support I found out that there was a problem with a payment, 3 years ago. My Netflix subscription was 25 cent behind after I cancelled it

Way to go Apple! You are doing a good job in getting the attitude ofthe  Microsoft Nazi’s! This is absolutely the proper and right way to say goodbye to your faithful customers! Acting as if all the (music, entertainment and literature) content is the sole property of Apple!

Regreds? No! Those of you who follow this blog already know that I’m interested in Google’s technology in Information Retreival, AI and Machine Learning . These are getting more visible in their products every day! My Samsung Galaxy A10 is equipped with 8 cores(!) and camera’s with more MegaPixels than all previous iPhone models ever had together!

Trading in my Macbook Pro for a Chromebook was (and still is) a great pleasure! Not in the last place because the Chromebook is less then 10% of the price of a MacBook, it also performs 10 x better and has a 14 ” display in stead of the MBP 13 “!

Actually, this post was written on my new Chromebook.

Natural Language Processing (NLP)

Introduction

NLPOne of the most challenging and revolutionary things artificial intelligence (AI) can do is speak, write, listen, and understand human language. Natural language processing (NLP) is a form of AI that extracts meaning from human language to make decisions based on the information. This technology is still evolving, but there are already many incredible ways natural language processing is used today. Here we highlight some of the everyday uses of natural language processing and five amazing examples of how natural language processing is transforming businesses.
Everyday Functions of Natural Language Processing

Every day, humans exchange countless words with other humans to get all kinds of things accomplished. But communication is much more than words—there’s context, body language, intonation, and more that help us understand the intent of the words when we communicate with each other. That’s what makes natural language processing, the ability for a machine to understand human speech, such an incredible feat and one that has huge potential to impact so much in our modern existence. Today, there is a wide array of applications natural language processing is responsible for.

Many of us have virtual assistants in the form of the Amazon Echo or Google Home in our everyday lives and have enjoyed being able to interact with a computer through a conversational interface enabled by natural language processing. Many businesses are exploring how conversational interfaces can be transformational because the technology is platform agnostic, can continuously learn and offers customers a frictionless experience.

Natural language processing is behind the scenes for several things you may take for granted every day. When you ask Siri for directions or to send a text, natural language processing enables that functionality.

Here are some more applications of natural language processing:

Email assistant: Auto-correct, grammar and spell check, as well as auto-complete, are all functions enabled by NLP. The spam filter on your email system uses NLP to determine what emails you’d like to keep in your inbox and what are likely spam and should be sorted out.

Answering questions: If you have shopped online or interacted with a website chat box, you likely were interacting with a chatbot rather than a human. These AI customer service gurus are actually algorithms that use natural language processing to be able to understand your query and respond to your questions adequately, automatically, and in real-time.

Drives e-commerce: NLP allows for better search results when you shop online. It is becoming adept at deciphering the intent of your message even if there are spelling errors or important details you omit in your search terms. By searching online, you are actually adding to the customer data available that help retailers learn your habits and preferences and therefore respond to them. In fact, Gartner predicts that 85 percent of customer interactions will be managed without humans by 2020.

Extract and summarize information: Natural language processing can extract and synthesize information from a variety of text sources such as news reports, user manuals, and more. After getting info, it can use what it understood to make decisions or take action based on algorithms.

5 Amazing Examples of Natural Language Processing

1. Natural language processing helps the Livox app be a communication device for people with disabilities. The creation of Carlos Pereira, a father who developed the app to help his non-verbal daughter, who has cerebral palsy communicate, the customizable app is now available in 25 languages.

2. Another tool enabled by natural language processing is SignAll that converts sign language into text. This can help individuals who are deaf communicate with those who don’t know sign language.

3. Machine translation is a huge application for NLP that allows us to overcome barriers to communicating with individuals from around the world as well as understand tech manuals and catalogs written in a foreign language. Google Translate is used by 500 million people every day to understand more than 100 world languages.

4. Natural language processing technology is even being applied for aircraft maintenance. Not only could it help mechanics synthesize information from enormous aircraft manuals it can also find meaning in the descriptions of problems reported verbally or handwritten from pilots and other humans.

5. While the issue is complex, there’s even work being done to have natural language processing assist with predictive police work to specifically identify the motive in crimes.

As industry leaders continue to experiment and develop enhancements to natural language processing such as Amazon’s Alexa division using aneural network to transfer learning, we can expect that NLP will become even better and more influential for business in the very near future.

Caching Systems, how does the Cache work?

Smart Caching systems explained

Cache
Cache

A caching system stores data so that future requests for that data can be served faster; the data stored in a cache might be the result of an earlier computation or a copy of data stored elsewhere. A cached hit occurs when the requested data can be found in a cache, while a cached miss occurs when it cannot. Cache hits are served by reading data from the cache, which is faster than recomputing a result or reading from a slower data store; thus, the more requests that can be served from the cache, the faster the system performs.

Examples of Caching
  • WordPress uses caching to serve webpages faster after they have been requested once in a certain period.
  • DNS Servers keep records in memory during the Time-Of-Life (TTL) value as configured in the zone.
  • In Object Oriented programs like Java the ‘Life’ objects (instantiated) can be kept alive until a certain (Time-To-Live) threshold is reached. After that time the instance is destroyed (invalidated).
